Custom Made Bluegrass Barrels

I have had the great pleasure of working with a great company.  Bluegrass Barrels is a great gift idea that is unique and is for someone that has just about everything or is even hard to buy for.

I was so excited to receive my barrel in for review and for my honey to see.  I just knew he would love it.  He is a Bourbon drinker so this would be perfect for him.

Once our order was placed with our desired engraving it took only days to receive.  So not only do they have awesome customer service, fast shipping but they also have high quality products also.

I'm sure you are curious as to what it looks like so I will show you.  Please keep in mind that the pictures don't do it any justice in my opinion.  It looks so much better in person.

I received the one (1) liter for review. It comes with the barrel, stand, bunge, and spout.

This is the barrel right after we received it and before we cured it. Yes, you have to cure it before using/filling it with your preferred drink.  Don't worry it's really easy to do.  Just follow these easy steps:

Fill the barrel with warm water (it might leak, that is okay)
Immediately empty the barrel
Let the barrel sit empty for 3-4 hours. This will allow the wood to swell and the joints to seal tight
Fill the barrel again with warm water. If it continues to leak, repeat this cycle 3-4 times until the barrel no longer leaks.

To make sure ours didn't leak anymore we filled it and sat it on a plate during the day while we were at work and checked it to make sure.  When we came home there was no water anywhere so we knew we were good and able to add our drink of choice to it.

Check out our video and see how easy it is to fill and use the barrel.

We are going to get a shelf made especially for our barrel so it can be displayed all the time.  This is definitely an item that will add character to the home.

Sorry for the dark pictures, but this gives you an idea as to what it will look like while being on display!
