We are always hearing about tragedies happening or someone/family going through financial hardship due to a serious illness because of the medical bills. There have been times when when I have heard about something that has happened to a family or community and wished there was something I could do to help them out.
I have recently been introduced to a great site that helps those in need. What is this site you ask? It is called Giving Forward or Giving Tuesday.
WHAT IS GIVINGTUESDAY?
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now,
we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 2, 2014,
charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around
the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate
generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community,
your company or your organization to come together to give something
more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and
be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.
One of the fundraisers that is one to really consider is Shah's Fundraiser. The Shah family is dealing with a lot. Not only are they having to deal with huge expenses but they are having to deal emotionally with the knowledge that their young son is dealing with cancer! How horrible this must be for them, I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through.
A way to ease some of their burdens a donation page has been made for them to assist with the medical bills. You can read more on their cause HERE and read the updates. There is also a Facebook Page called Carrying the Shahs where you can get updates and information.
Because of Giving Forward the Shah's cause not only gets to people in their area but nationwide! Obviously the more people the cause reaches the more donations and prayers are received.
Whether or not you have children this is a cause that I think should be shared with everyone. No family should have to worry about anything other than getting their loved one the help and attention they need.
It would be awesome if you could make a donation also! Even if you aren't in a position to do so I want to thank each and everyone of you for reading this post!
